A nod towards the original 1950's Leoncino 125

Back in the early 1950s the Benelli Leoncino was born. Sporting a 125cc engine, it became a massive success for Benelli. Over the years, the engine increased in size from 125 to 250 and towards the models we know and love today, the Leoncino 500 and the newly announced Leoncino 800.

But with a respectful nod to the motorcycle that started it all, we will soon see the Benelli Leoncino 125cc back on sale. A bike that new riders can proudly ride, knowing it had a rich pedigree, something which few modern 125cc machines can claim.

The Leoncino 125 expands the current Leoncino range and stays faithful to the family's look and style, bringing out both its heritage and contemporary character. Leoncino 125 is also a bike designed for those new to the motorcycling world but want something a bit more special than your average 125. Guaranteeing maximum ease of handling and agility on the road and offering an exciting ride from the start, all without very reasonable operating costs and an attractive retail price.

The beating heart of the Leoncino 125 is the new single-cylinder four-stroke liquid-cooled 125cc engine, a first for the quarter-litre models currently in the range. This new engine has a power output of 12.8 hp (9.4 kW) at 9500 rpm and 10 Nm (1.0 kgm) at 8500 rpm. The timing features single overhead camshaft with 4 valves per cylinder, electronic injection with 28 mm diameter throttle body, wet clutch and 6-speed gearbox.

Developed for maximum agility and handling on the road, the Leoncino 125 has an excellent chassis. The frame is a traditional steel trellis frame designed to integrate perfectly with the bike's design, sharing the style and character of the quarter-litre of the Leoncino range. The tank features a mix of classic and modern lines and balanced surfaces capable of giving the bike a unique, unmistakable look.

The all-LED headlight is high end, with an elegant, sophisticated design. The instrument panel is digital and clearly visible in all conditions. Like the rest of the Leoncino range, the stylised lion proudly stands out on the front mudguard, recalling the history of this model and the original 1950's Leoncino 125.

The suspensions of the Leoncino 125 consist of an upside-down fork on the front with 35 mm diameter legs, while the back end has a swinging arm with central monoshock and travel of 53 mm.

The 17" aluminium alloy rims mount 110/80-R17 and 130/70-R17 tyres, respectively, ensuring maximum road safety. The braking system consists of a single 280 mm diameter floating disc with a three-piston calliper on the back, a 220 mm diameter disc with a two-piston floating calliper. CBS present.

The Leoncino 125 will be available at all Benelli dealers starting from spring 2022
